Govt stops employees from leaking info to media

All government employees have been stopped from leaking news to the media, Geo News reported.

According to information obtained by Geo News reporter Asif Ali Bhatti, federal, provincial, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan government employees were issued a memorandum number No. 1/20/76/D-IV/D3 from the Establishment Division which stated that the leakage of government information to the media be stopped.

It also stated that government information leaked to the media had placed the government in an embarrassing position. Therefore all information sharing with the media must be stopped. Any information sent to the media is in violation of the government services act article 18 and 22.

The memorandum also stated that if any government employee was found to be in violation than action would be taken against them.
