Bus explosion not caused by CNG cylinder, explosives

The explosives department has concluded its initial investigation report of the explosion and ensuing fire in a passenger bus on Tuesday, Geo News reported.

According to the investigation, the cause of the explosion was not due to the gas cylinder bursting nor was it due to explosives. The reason was leakage from one of the gas cylinders.

The Chief inspector of the explosives department, Haroon Rehman said that after evaluating the passenger van and its gas cylinder and kit it was found out that the explosion could have resulted from gas accumulation due to leakage.

He added that the leak could have been near the silencer of the bus and due to short circuiting an explosion took place
