Pure launches new event in October

Pure is delighted to announce the launch of a new event which has been created to meet the demand caused by changing retailer buying strategies.

Pure Close to Season, held in October, will give buyers an opportunity to top up their current forward order collections, buy short-order for autumn 11 and source new on-trend product for Spring Summer 2012.

The show will be designed to help buyers meet the increasing demand from their consumers for constantly changing, trend driven product, as well respond to weather changes and celebrity influences. “The major high street retailers have been doing it for ages, so it's about time” one buyer commented.

Catwalks, Drapers and WGSN trend sessions, business seminars and networking opportunities will provide thousands of buyers with up-to the-minute insights and advice for successful retailing.

Steve Newbold, Managing Director of Pure London commented, “ Pure Close to Season concept has been met with a very positive response from buyers – it will provide an invaluable opportunity to top up collections and source new product, from an inspiring range of footwear, accessory, womenswear and young fashion brands.”

Research conducted by Pure London, via over 400 in-depth interviews and online surveys, has highlighted the market need for a close to season event. Compared to three years ago, short order has increased by 27% and retailers are spending 30% more on forward order brand’s injection or top up ranges.

“We need to be able to keep up with the trend setters and not look 'stale'. An event like Pure Close to Season would help me pick and choose what I need to help keep my stores looking fresh - having it all in one place would be a big help.” Another buyer commented.

Held in the Grand Hall at London Olympia, Pure Close to Season will compliment the buying done at Pure London in August and February.

In addition, the core Pure shows will continue to grow with increased marketing and visitor attraction investment. The return to the popular one venue format in February, following the development of a new double decker hall in Olympia, will enable Pure to offer the best possible experience for buyers and brands throughout the year.
