Exchange your culture at AFNYW with Josefa Dasilva’s designs

Josefa Dasilva will showcase Friday, July 15th at Africa Fashion Week New York. AFWNY, produced by Adirée, will take place at the Broad Street Ballroom on July 14th, 15th, 16th in New York City’s Financial District.

Josefa Dasilva’s designs are inspired by her belief that fashion designing is an important medium for the exchange of cultures and ideas. Josefa Dasilva’s collection is ready to wear, featuring colors and patterns inspired by culture and experience.

“My passion for fashion started ever since I was a little girl. Fashion was rooted in my family, as both my mother and grandmother were both entrepreneurs with their own custom design clothes.”– Dasilva.

AFWNY includes runway shows hosting 21+ designers from various countries in Africa and those of the African Diaspora, exhibitions, and industry networking events. Opening designer Korto Momolu and designers like Washington Roberts, Saint Wobil, AAMAA Couture, Bill Witherspoon and others will showcase.

Josefa Dasilva is a designer of African decent. She uses her culture to influence her pieces.

Adirée, based in NY, NY, focuses on event production, organization, and consulting for small to medium size clients in the areas of Fashion, Art, and Culture.
