Toll rises to six in Karachi violence

KARACHI: Six more people were killed in fresh violence and firing incidents across the city while the residents of Malir protested against the police operation in the area Tuesday, Geo News reported.

A bus driver was killed when unknown men opened fire on the vehicle in Baldia sector 19-D area of Karachi.

According to the police, a man was killed in a firing incident near Old Haji Camp; meanwhile body of another man was found in Napier area of Old City Area.

Unidentified armed men entered the house in Delhi Colony and gunned down a 35-year-old man, identified as Amanullah. In other firing incident 25 years old Azeen was shot dead in Jhanda Chowk area of Liaquatabad.

A body of a man was found near Radio Pakistan on M.A. Jinnah road. All dead bodies were taken to Jinnah, Civil and Abbasi Shaheed hospitals.

Police conducted targeted operation in Malir on Monday night and arrested a dozen people on suspicion due to which the residents of the area protested by blocking the National Highway.

Later traffic was restored after the police dispersed the protestors by shelling and tear gas.
