Lyari building collapse: death toll rises to seven

KARACHI: The death toll of a collapsed five-storey residential building in Baghdadi area of Lyari has reached to seven while dozens sustained injuries, Geo News reported.

According to police sources, a five-storey building came down in Baghdadi Mosa Lane area of Lyari killing seven people while many people are feared trapped under the rubble.

The Commissioner Karachi said that around 40-50 people are trapped under the rubble, most of them are feared to be women and young children.

Rescue teams and fire brigades are taking part in rescue efforts while twelve injured have been shifted to hospital so far.

Approximately 12-15 families were residing in the building, sources added.
