The enforcement of Commissionerate System in the province of Sindh through ordinance has been challenged in the Supreme Court of Pakistan here, Geo News reported.
Molvi Iqbal Hyder in his petition filed in the Supreme Court against the commissionerate system has made the federation through federal law ministry, Acting Sindh Governor, provincial chief secretary and secretary local bodies respondents.
It is prayed in the petition that the enforcement of commissionerate system be suspended immediately
Sindh Government has promulgated Sindh Local Government Ordinance (SLGO) 1979 to restore Commissionerate System in Sindh, Geo News reported Saturday.
Acting Governor Sindh Nisar Khuhro signed SLGO 1979 besides two acts including the amended Land Revenue Act 1967 and Police Act 1861.
Sindh Government has suspended Sindh Local Government Ordinance 2000 and Police Order 2002 with immediate effect.
