Beatles' Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band voted best album cover

.The Beatles' Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, which features the Fab Four in a park, has made its way to the top spot in a new poll of best album covers.
The colourful artwork on the 1967 classic, surrounded by cut-outs of icons and celebrities, saw off competition from George Hardie's Dark Side of the Moon creation for Pink Floyd in the RollingStone.com online poll, reports Contactmusic.
Announcing the winner, editors wrote Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is, "without a doubt, one of the most iconic images in the history of rock and roll."
Third on the list is Nirvana's Nevermind and Abbey Road by the Beatles and The Clash's London Calling round out the top five.
